200th Entry. [Dec. 19th, 2006|02:23 pm]
Almost a year ago, I joined livejournal as a brief respite from blogging at bloggar. It was to be a temporary break while I worked on a new skin for my blogspot address. Little did I expect that I would stay on LJ for a full 200 posts, join countless communities and form my own little haven in this blogging service. LJ became my blogging home.

Of course, having the attention span of whatever-is-smaller-than-a-hummingbird, I feel it's time to move on to another blog service. I'm not going to leave LJ completely though. I'll be back daily to check for comments as well as my friends page, since the communities are such gems for info. So, do drop a comment still when you pass by.

This doesn't mean that I won't be back to LJ also. Someday, I might be back, maybe even quicker than you'd expect. In any case, here's my new blog address: http://gforgabriel.wordpress.com. Cheers and see you there!

Gabriel.

Bah. [Nov. 30th, 2006|10:40 pm]
Wow I can't seem to connect onto MSN Messenger. And, for the first time in a while, I actually want to start my work but I've left my thumbdrive in school by accident and the MSN groups seem to be down too so I can't even access any articles to edit. Darn.

In other news, I'm totally freaked out by the amount of work we might have to do for a certain government agency.

Gabriel.

ps. What a bummer. After last week's voting fiasco, I thought I finally found someone to support today for Project Superstar. Of course, this would mean that he gets eliminated tonight. Looks like I'll have to look again.

Hmm. [Nov. 29th, 2006|10:16 pm]
Well the news that I got yesterday and the wake I attended today not only caused me to think about the usual, life-is-precious philosophy and motivate me to be nicer and live a more fruitful, happier life, it also showed me how you never really know what a person is thinking and going through and really like, against all appearances.

I pray for brother Kee Wan, that he'll have moved on to a better, happier place and also for his family that they will be able to cope well. I know that God will provide them with the provisions to survive if they ask for it.

On a slightly less sombre mood, I walked into Popular at Jurong East MRT today just a few minutes before its closing, just to take a look at the new books. Lo and behold, the Pendragon book that I've been waiting for for literally the last six months has finally arrived! Although it isn't the usual publisher that I like and it does cost slightly more ($8.05) as compared to SAN Bookshop ($6.50 to $7.50), I bought it anyway since I've been waiting for so long. I'll probably regret the economically-unsound purchase later on but ah, who cares, sometimes a fanboy has to do what a fanboy has to do.

Wow-wee! [Nov. 28th, 2006|08:46 pm]
Bukit Batok East Point is damn happening man!

Not only does it have a lot of hawker centres, one of which sells cheap and delicious yong tau foo, it also has a large convenience store selling the $2.80 version of TriMedia Publishing's favourite seaweed snack for $2.30 ($0.50 discount!) and a VCD shop which sells DVD boxsets (Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy!), rare Ultraman and Pokemon VCDs for really low prices. I found really cheap copies of Tanya's T-Time (which I've been wanting to buy and did buy today) as well as Jumborg Ace VCDs, which I've never seen in Singapore before. So happening!

Dear Santa. [Nov. 26th, 2006|10:03 pm]
Dear Santa,

I know I'm writing in kind of early this year but just wanna give you some lead time to prepare cause I know there are a lot of people for you to get presents for.

This Christmas, I would love to have good health & fitness (need to pass my napfa test!), good grades (would love that AD!), happiness & contentment, lots of LJ comments, suddenly increased editorial ability, lots of money, increased aptitude in music & sports, the ability to pass my driving test and, of course, the perennial favourite - world peace.

Of course, I know these are kind of hard to get. So I'm totally okay to settle for some of these instead.

Thanks a lot and hope your reindeers are fine!

Will leave you lots of low-fat cookies and skim milk on the table (must watch that tummy of yours!)

A slightly naughty boy this year,
Gabriel.

Third post of the day. [Nov. 26th, 2006|09:58 pm]
So the BBQ was pretty fun. It was a night (and afternoon before) of TV, toiling in the kitchen (well, some of the girls did), fun, laughter, food, camwhoring and, in some instances, screaming. Fun stuff yeah.

Only bad part of the night? I broke my favourite (and, well, only) pair of slippers that I've been wearing since year 1. Darn.

Oh well.

I know this post might not have the literary grandoise of Agnes's emotional blog entry but I just want to wish my fellow TriMedia Publishing teammates a happy 10th week anniversay working together.

To:
-Agnes (my fellow UW/hype editor who loves to take unglam photos of everyone, make loud noises and sit on top of planners)
-Fiona (my topnotchad agency partner who loves Ouran Host Club and a good game of daidee like me)
-Serene (my damn noisy cab partner who lives so darn near me and is going to get me discounted games)
-Zat (my romantic paramour who enjoys my messages and likes to sing emo songs at the top of his lungs)
-Nessi (my supposed LJ layout designer who flails madly about when she sings and who loves embarrassing 90s pop hits)
-Charlotte (the Tribune editor who got us all addicted to the irritatingly delicious seaweed thingy and who likes to make porn sounds)

I thank you all for the fun, laughter-filled last few weeks and wish for many more to come. I couldn't ask for cooler people to be stuck in a room with on a many-many-hour basis (70+ hours of rollover overtime!) and here's looking forward to more great publications, gossip sessions, pigouts, kinky jokes, hilarious videos and sing-a-long sessions!

Gabriel.

ps. Anyone know where I can find nice, cheap slippers?

Random rambles of Sunday. [Nov. 26th, 2006|09:49 pm]
1. Wow, today my hair actually stood up and stayed styled in the usual fashion despite the fact that I didn't put any gel nor wax onto it at all. Usually, even when I put those hair styling agents and even when my hair is short, it still has trouble standing up. Today, it just stayed up the whole day. Cool!

2. Weee the gym has a new treadmill to replace the laopok one that spoilt last few weeks. I didn't get to use it today (jogged on the normal one) but it looks cool. Not like I'm going to have much chances to use it though.

Woohoo! [Nov. 26th, 2006|07:27 pm]
Yeah, Damien is the Australian Idol 2006!

He's the person I've liked best since the beginning of this entire competition and I seriously thought he would get eliminated halfway but, very pleasantly surprisingly, he's managed to stay all the way and he's now the champion of the season!

This is one of the very few times when the person I've liked best from the start has actually remained my favourite throughout and actually won in the end.

What with Hady, Eva and Zhi Yang (and some others I can't remember at the mo), this has been a fantastic year for reality TV singing competitions. Woohoo!

Gabriel.

ps. Happy as I am for Damien, though, I don't think he's going to do as well as in the charts as, say, Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll from season 1 and Anthony Callea from season 2. He just doesn't have the teen girl support which will get him multi-platinum sales. Plus, his music is not exactly the record-selling mainstream pop. That said, though, I hope he at least does better than Kate DeAraugo or Casey Donovan, the previous two winners who have done pretty badly (despite being pretty good singers) due to either being too bland (Kate) or too artsy (Casey). I hope Sony BMG, or whoever is managing him, will market him well.

Eeyer. [Nov. 24th, 2006|12:05 am]
Wow, within one night and in one show (first quarter-final round some more!), all four who went out of Project Superstar 2 were people whom I was supporting. Although it's still too early to have clear favourites yet, I thought all four were pretty good and I really didn't expect any of them to get out. One of them even had the highest score out of all 12 contestants last night!

Darn.

Desperate Mass Communicator. [Nov. 22nd, 2006|01:31 am]
Random people have been adding me on friendster. But, because they don't look like spammers (ie. they look like real people), I just added them anyway because I'm scared that they're actually people I know but have forgotten about. That, would be totally embarrassing. PAISEH!

Gabriel.

ps. Talking about friendster, I was just going through my profile just now and I realised that I have had no new testimonials since Oct 05! How can?! Quick, everyone go write me a nice and long one now praising me to high heavens so I can seem way cooler than I actually am and get more random adds.

Ta-da! [Nov. 21st, 2006|11:23 am]
Agnes' blog's viewership spiked when she put up the pictures of me on Singapore Tatler. Like SPIKED.

How. Cool. Is. That.

Gabriel.

eta. As of 10.21pm Nov 21 2006, Agnes has informed me that the entry with my pictures has overtaken a similar entry with her pictures as the single entry with the most page views ever. Muaha. Can't believe people want to see me acting suave and failing miserably. Oh no I must be one of those objects of derision. Oh no they didn't! Hahaha.

Sometimes, people can have mouths too big for them to handle. I know I do.

To all the people who've suffered as a result of me not being able to control my mouth, I apologise. I'm sorry.
